Thousands of marijuana plants seized in Lewis County, police say
More than 2,200 marijuana plants were seized Wednesday as part of a multi-agency investigation into a growing operation in Lewis County.
According to the Centralia Police Department, law enforcement officers searched two properties in the 400 block of Centralia Alpha Road and the 200 block of Pattee Road near Chehalis. They seized more than 2,200 marijuana plants, 28 pounds of dried marijuana, and thousands of dollars in growing equipment.
Two people from San Francisco, a 61-year-old and a 36-year-old, were arrested on suspicion of unlawful manufacturing of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school bus stop and unlawful possession with the intent to deliver marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school bus stop.
In May, more than 2,500 plants were seized during a search of a property in the 100 block of Senn Road near Chehalis. That led authorities to the two properties searched this week.
