Police investigate shooting outside Lacey home
Police in Lacey are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday morning on a residential street.
According to Sgt. Jaime Newcomb, police were called to a home on the 1100 block of Forrestal Place Northeast shortly after 6 a.m. for a report of gunshots. They found a man, 26, who lives at the home injured and shell casings outside the home.
Police later got a call from officers in Pierce County about two people who turned up at a hospital there, one with a gunshot wound, Newcomb said. Police linked the two to the incident in Lacey.
“What we can ascertain so far is that these individuals knew each other, there was some sort of physical disturbance that started in the home, and it spilled out into the street,” Newcomb said, adding police believe the disturbance was drug related.
On Saturday afternoon police arrested the man who lives at the home on suspicion of assault. One of the two people at the hospital, a woman in her mid-30s, was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
The other person at the hospital, a man in his late-30s, remains in critical condition with a gunshot wound, according to Newcomb.
