Traffic alert: Big back up on I-5 in Olympia and Tumwater

Traffic was snarled on southbound Interstate-5, which was reduced to one lane in the Olympia and Tumwater area late Wednesday morning due to police activity, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The police activity was near Second Avenue in Tumwater, the department posted on Twitter.

Northbound I-5 also had a lane blocked due to the activity. This story will be updated if more information is released.
