Child porn suspect arrested in Bellingham after trying to load images to Photobucket
A 26-year-old unemployed Bellingham man was arrested Tuesday, March 15, after allegedly trying to upload child pornography to Photobucket.com, a free photo- and video-sharing website.
On Dec. 16, 2010, a compliance manager with Photobucket saw that someone was trying to upload the images, and reported it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Bellingham Police spokesman Mark Young said. The center reported the incident to the Department of Homeland Security, which started an investigation.
Homeland Security contacted Bellingham Police earlier this week, and local officers contacted Timothy A. Brown at about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, in a computer lab at the Cascade Meadows Apartments, 455 Westerly Road. During a search, officers found a thumb drive in Brown's possession, Young said.
