Lacey shooting suspect in critical condition, police say
The suspect in Monday’s shooting in Lacey remains in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to the Lacey Police Department.
Police responded to the home on the 5900 block of Crimson Court SE shortly after 4:30 p.m. for a report of a man with a gun. One woman, 31, believed to be the suspect’s estranged wife, was transported from the scene with gunshot wounds and later died at a local hospital. The woman’s mother, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, 32, fled with two children in his car, leading police on a pursuit through Thurston County and opening fire on police.
The chase ended near at the Olympia auto mall, where police say the man shot himself.
Both children were recovered unharmed.
The investigation is ongoing. Lacey Police Department is the lead agency for the crime scene at Crimson Court SE, and the Thurston County Critical Incident Team is the lead agency at the Olympia scene.
