Expect delays as road work in Olympia continues
Drivers in Olympia will see more lane closures and delays starting Thursday as crews work to chip seal roads.
Flaggers will be on hand to direct traffic. Drivers should slow down on newly chip sealed roads since there could be loose rock on the road.
Crews will be working from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday on Walnut Road from Division Street to Ethel Street and on Cooper Point Road from Black Lake Boulevard to Caton Way; from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday on Walnut Road from Division Street to Ethel Street, on 14th Avenue from Kaiser Road to Cooper Point Road, and on State Avenue from Quince Street to Tullis Street; and from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday on Harrison Avenue from Division Street to West Bay Drive and on Cooper Point Road from Evergreen Park Drive to Highway 101.
Access to driveways and side streets may be disrupted. The city warns vehicles parked on the shoulder during chip sealing could be towed.
