1. Police searching for suspect after woman reports rape in Tumwater: Tumwater police are trying to locate a male suspect after a 41-year-old woman reported being physically and sexually assaulted Monday evening, the department wrote in a release Wednesday.
2. This popular coffee shop in Lacey is getting new owners and a new name: Forrey’s Forza, a coffee shop on Marvin Road in Lacey, is set to become Lacey Forza, Bistro and Event Center on Feb. 1.

Crowds of clients prove a challenge for Community Care Center and its neighborhood: Supporters of the Community Care Center say it is doing good work, despite the challenges of dealing with a large number of people in need, and criticism from neighbors. In recent weeks, the center has seen about 180 people a day, down from more than 200 a day when it first opened. People come for the center’s showers, laundry, shelter and free coffee in the day room; from there staff can help connect them to medical and mental health services and housing.

Former Fish and Wildlife employee found guilty of rape, burglary: Greg Schirato, a former state Department of Fish and Wildlife division leader who was accused of sexually assaulting a former co-worker, was led from a courtroom in handcuffs Wednesday after a jury found him guilty of second-degree rape and first-degree burglary.
