Man found dead near Nisqually last month was victim of homicide, officials say
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday released an update on an unidentified body found Sept. 24 in a wooded area off Reservation Road Southeast, near Nisqually.
After an autopsy and additional exams were completed, the Thurston County Coroner’s Office determined the male victim was stabbed several times. The Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the case as a homicide, according to a press release.
The victim has yet to be identified, as the body was severely decomposed at the time of discovery. The Sheriff’s Office is now seeking the public’s help in identifying the victim.
Detectives think the body was dumped in the wooded area sometime between June and August 2021.
According to the release, the victim is believed to have been a light-skinned male with longer brown hair, a mustache and a short beard. He’s believed to have been between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10 and between 20-40 years old. At the time he was found, he was wearing red Polo Ralph Lauren boxer briefs and size 12 Adidas Yeezy SPLY-350 shoes.
