A new destination for sweets in Lacey and a local brewery introduces a new product

If you’re in need of a sugar fix, a new business in Lacey just might be the place to satisfy that craving.

It’s called The Nom Nom Stop and its grand opening was Dec. 4, according to social media and a banner across the front of the business. The owners could not immediately be reached.

Some of what the business offers: cheesecake on a stick, French crepes and handcrafted chocolates.

The business can be found at 1107 College Street SE, Suite C, and is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.

Other business happenings

West Olympia-based Headless Mumby Brewing has said goodbye to plastic six-pack rings for beer and switched to a new product called the Eco 6 Pack Ring, the business announced.

The new rings are not only recyclable, but also compostable, according to a news release.

“We’ve been using the hard plastic rings that most of our industry uses and looking for a way to reduce our plastic footprint,” said Alex Maffeo, the brewery’s co-Founder and CEO, in a statement. “The fact that those rings aren’t recycled unless they’re sent to a special facility sealed the deal for us.”

The rings are made from barley and wheat byproducts and stand up remarkably well to getting wet, Maffeo said.

Headless Mumby’s six packs can be found at bottle shops and independent grocery stores throughout Puget Sound in the new packaging format beginning Dec. 8, according to the business.
