Correction: Casey Muxen, 36, died on Feb. 22. A previous version of this article incorrectly spelled his first name.

A motorcyclist who died after colliding with another vehicle in south Thurston County on Feb. 22 has been identified.

Casey Muxen, a 36-year-old man from Tenino, died of blunt force trauma, said Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock.

The incident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. near the intersection of Reeder Road Southwest and 137th Trail just south of Maytown, Thurston County Sheriff’s Lt. Cameron Simper previously told The Olympian.

Deputies and medics responded to the collision, but Simper said Muxen died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a Honda CRV, was not injured in the crash, he added.

No other people or vehicles were involved in the collision, he said.

Based on an initial investigation, Simper said it appeared Muxen struck the driver-side door of the Honda CRV as it was turning north onto Reeder Road.

Deputies closed the roadway for two hours after the collision, he said.
