A 42-year-old man who died in a restroom at the Olive Garden restaurant in west Olympia has been identified, according to the Thurston County Coroner’s Office.

Although the cause of death is still to be determined through toxicology analysis, David M. Atkinson of Graham, Washington, is suspected of dying from a drug overdose because of drug paraphernalia that was found near his body, Coroner Gary Warnock previously said.

About 7:40 p.m. June 18, Olympia police and fire department medics were dispatched to the restaurant on Capital Mall Drive near Black Lake Boulevard, The Olympian reported.

There was an attempt to revive the man, then Coroner’s Office staff were called to the scene about 8:10 p.m.
