A 43-year-old man who was hit by a vehicle on Yelm Highway and died at the scene has been identified by the Thurston County Coroner.

About 7:10 p.m. Sunday, Rosendo Rodriguez-Guevara of Olympia was in the area of Yelm Highway and Spurgeon Creek Road when he was hit by a vehicle. Attempts were made to revive the man, but he was eventually pronounced dead at the scene, The Olympian previously reported.

The driver who hit the man called 911.

Thurston County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Brooks told The Olympian there was no indication that the vehicle driver was intoxicated or had been driving recklessly. There isn’t a crime being investigated, he said, and no one was arrested.
