A 49-year-old man who was found dead by train tracks in the Nisqually Valley Monday has been identified.

Michael Farley of Yelm died due to multiple blunt force injuries that resulted from a fall from height, Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock shared on Thursday. It remains unclear why or how Farley fell. Warnock said his manner of death is still pending.

Thurston County Sheriff’s deputies found Farley at about 8:30 a.m. Monday along the tracks and below an overpass near Reservation Road Southeast and Lost Lake.

Deputies responded to a 911 call from a representative of the railroad company, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, or BNSF.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating Farley’s death but it is not considered suspicious, Detective Sgt. Alan Clark told The Olympian on Monday.
