A 49-year-old man wanted by law enforcement for alleged voyeurism and other crimes was arrested last week in Lacey, police report.

Olympia and Lacey police worked together to find the man, Olympia police Lt. Paul Lower said Tuesday.

In early September, Olympia police alerted the public after a woman reported waking up in her bed to find the suspect standing next to it. She shouted, and he fled the apartment, according to police.

After releasing that information, police received calls from a number of area residents reporting similar incidents, Lower said. Police were able to collect video from some of those sources, including footage of the man getting into a vehicle, which produced license plate information, he said.

Police then obtained a search warrant to search the suspect’s home. They found two items that matched what the suspect had been wearing in the videos: a head-covering piece of clothing known as a balaclava and his shoes.

Lacey police arrested the man Oct. 16 in the 2100 block of Monique Court Southeast, just east of Carpenter Road.

“The 49-year-old has previously been arrested in another state in 2011 and 2019 for the same thing,” Lacey police said in a social media post.

The suspect was booked on suspicion of residential burglary with sexual motivation, voyeurism, stalking and attempted residential burglary, according to Lacey police.

Although the suspect was arrested, Olympia and Lacey police are attempting to find other victims.

“Lacey officers have located calls as far back as the summer of 2024 involving the suspect in the city, and believe there may be more in the area,” the social media post reads.

Anyone who might be a victim is asked to call the Thurston 911 non-emergency line at 360-704-2740 and ask for Lacey’s community resource unit, according to the post.
