Here’s when local grocery stores will be open on Thanksgiving Day, and which will be closed:
- Albertsons: Open 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Bayview Thriftway: Open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Haggen Northwest Fresh: Open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Olympia Food Co-Op: Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Ralph’s Thriftway: Open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Safeway: Open 5 a.m. to 1 a.m.
- Trader Joe’s: Closed
Are pharmacies open on Thanksgiving?
Arow Pharmacy in Olympia will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving day.
Target and Walgreens pharmacies will be closed in observance of the holiday, according to the companies’ websites, and so will most grocery store pharmacies.

Capital Mall in Olympia will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, according to its website.
What else is closed in Olympia for Thanksgiving?
Government offices will be closed on Thursday for Thanksgiving, including:
- Olympia city offices, including City Hall
- Timberland Regional Library branches
- U.S. post offices
- Washington State Department of Licensing offices
Most banks will also be closed, including Chase Bank, Key Bank, Olympia Federal Savings, US Bank, and Wells Fargo.
