Exit for I-5 in Thurston County will close during the day this week, WSDOT says

Plans to close the Pacific Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-5 are back on this week after being canceled Jan. 29. Now is the time to plan for detours and additional travel time.

According to a Feb. 19 news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation, the eastbound Pacific Avenue on-ramp will close to all travelers from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26.

The ramp is closing so that WSDOT crews can work to improve drainage and visibility along the ramp, according to a news release. The work includes clearing a clogged drain and removing vegetation.

During the closure, a signed detour will direct travelers to the westbound Pacific Avenue on-ramp to access southbound I-5, according to WSDOT.

WSDOT asks for commuter cooperation and patience while crews maintain and preserve the roadway.
