A tragic car crash in downtown Olympia Thursday night that left one woman brain dead and a man seriously injured appeared twice in our list of most read stories.

1. The Sonic Drive-In experience comes to Thurston County: Thurston County’s first Sonic Drive-In opened Tuesday, complete with ribbon-cutting, 100 employees and plenty of customers who lined up before its 10 a.m opening and then quickly filled the stalls, drive-thru and walk-up area to order food.

2. Woman struck by truck in downtown Olympia is not expected to survive: An elderly woman struck down by a pickup truck in downtown Olympia on Thursday is not expected to survive, prosecutors said Friday.

4. Bail set at $75,000 for man accused of racing, crashing car with child inside: A judge set bail at $75,000 for Jeremy L. Francis, a 33-year-old man suspected of racing and crashing his car with a 3-year-old boy inside.

5. A judge sentenced a veteran to 24 hours in jail then joined him behind bars: The judge knew that Sgt. Joseph Serna had been through a lot.
