Lacey’s ‘Mama Green’ released without bail after allegedly selling drugs to minors

A woman who allegedly sold marijuana to minors under the name “Mama Green” has been released from the Thurston County jail without bail.

Cedrida Lynette Green, 57, attended her preliminary appearance in Thurston County Superior Court on Thursday.

The Thurston County Narcotics Task Force and Lacey police arrested Green, her two adult children and two other associates Wednesday following a months-long investigation, The Olympian reported. The arrests occurred at a home near the corner of College Street and 40th Lane Southeast, which is just northwest of Rainier Vista Community Park, according to court records.

Law enforcement allege she sold controlled substances, cannabis and vape products to children as young as 13 years old. During the investigation, detectives documented “over 150 juveniles” entering her residence on an average school day, the Lacey Police Department shared in a Facebook post.

A search of her home and the defendants’ cars yielded a “vast amount” of evidence, including marijuana, mushrooms, drug paraphernalia, over $24,000 in cash, multiple firearms and more, according to court records.

Prosecutors accused Green of the following crimes:

  • Four counts of distribution of a controlled substance to a person under 18
  • Five counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance
  • Unlawful possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, with intent to deliver while armed with a firearm.
  • Unlawful possession of a controlled substance, psilocybin, with intent to deliver while armed with a firearm.

The suspects have not yet been charged. If prosecutors do charge them, their arraignments are expected to be Feb. 18.

In court Thursday, Judge Anne Egeler found probable cause for the alleged crimes and ordered she be released with conditions, but no bail.

Egeler barred her from possessing weapons, alcohol and controlled substances, including marijuana. She also forbade her from contacting minors or her four co-defendants.

If she violates the court’s conditions or otherwise fails to attend her court hearings, a warrant will be issued for her arrest.

Jail records indicate she was released Thursday evening.

Green was previously convicted of firstuni-degree forgery in a 2006 Georgia case, according to court records.

Prosecutors accused the four other co-defendants of similar drug and firearm crimes.

On Thursday, Egeler set bail at $10,000 for Jade Nykole Green, 20, and about $15,000 for Jacob Jamaal Green, 21, court and jail records show.

Additionally, she set bail at $10,000 for both Tanner Vincent Hall, 22, and Xavier Thomas Lamar, 21.

Law enforcement alleged Hall and Lamar accompanied Jacob Green on suspected drug transactions, according to court records. During those transactions, detectives allegedly observed Jacob Green and Lamar in possession of firearms.

Those firearms along with a small bag of cocaine were found inside a vehicle they drove to the home, court records say.

Only Jacob Green and Hall remained in the county jail as of Friday morning, according to the jail roster. Jade Green and Lamar were bonded out Thursday.

Each of them were assigned public defense representation on Thursday. The Olympian has asked the Thurston County Public Defense Department for comment.

Detectives interviewed Cedrida Green after detaining her Wednesday. She allegedly admitted to regularly purchasing large amounts of marijuana products and sharing them with her adult children and persons under 21, according to court records.

She allegedly said that she did not sell any marijuana products, alcohol or nicotine, but sometimes accepted “reimbursement” money.
