WSDOT delays traffic changes at Marvin Road due to rain

Update: WSDOT said Wednesday work has again been delayed due to rain: “Crews will monitor the weather forecast and schedule the work during the first dry night, possibly as soon as Monday night, April 8.”

Washington State Department of Transportation has delayed lane closures near the Marvin Road Interstate 5 overpass in Lacey that were scheduled to start Tuesday night due to rain in the forecast.

Crews working to transform the overpass into a diverging diamond interchange need dry weather over one night to enact the new lane configuration, reducing the overpass to one lane in both directions. WSDOT says the closures could start Wednesday night unless it rains.

Once the closures start, they will be in place through early June at all times of day. Some drivers turning onto Marvin Road and Hogum Bay Road will be diverted.
