WSDOT names director of Public Transportation
A veteran of bringing transportation choices to Washington, Brian Lagerberg has been named director of the Public Transportation Division at the state Department of Transportation.
“Brian has spent years working on our state initiatives in commute trip reduction, vanpooling and other efficient choices for getting around,” said Transportation Secretary Paula Hammond. “His leadership will be important as we seek opportunities to offer more travel choices and mobility options in Washington state.”
Lagerberg has served as assistant director of public transportation since 2007 and as a manager in the division since 1996. He spent the seven years prior to that as transportation programs manager for the Washington State Energy Office.
“I’m honored to lead a dedicated group of people who work every day to offer more and better options for everyone, regardless of income, age or abilities,” Lagerberg said.
WSDOT’s Public Transportation Division provides people with commute and travel options that fit their unique needs. It supports an array of public transportation services from intercity transit to vanpools that reduce traffic on busy roads, cut vehicle emissions and improve mobility for everyone.
