The Olympia Police Department has released a sketch of the man suspected of stabbing a 28-year-old man Wednesday on the Olympia Woodland Trail.

Lt. Paul Lower said Saturday morning that no new details were available regarding the case, and no one has been arrested. The assault occurred near the trail’s intersection with Boulevard Road.

Officers responded to the scene about 3:10 p.m. after a 28-year-old victim used a cellphone to report he had been stabbed multiple times in the torso, according to the Olympia Police Department. He said he was sitting beside the trail after a long walk when a man approached and began stabbing him.

The victim told police he didn’t know his attacker, and the stabbing was unprovoked, officials said.

He described the attacker as a white male with blond hair and blue eyes. The attacker had patchy facial hair and obvious acne scars on his cheeks. He wore a blue jacket, red sweatshirt and blue jeans.

The man used a large kitchen knife in the attack, the victim reported.

The victim was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital and is expected to recover, according to Olympia police.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or has information about the assault is asked to call Olympia Police Department detectives at 360-753-8300.
