Not just a commuter campus anymore: UW Tacoma opens first student-only dorm

University of Washington Tacoma recently opened its first all-student housing complex, which officials say will increase the sense of community on campus while boosting businesses downtown. About 290 students can live in the Court 17 Apartments, which UWT purchased this year for $20 million and converted into a dormitory.
