The Denver Broncos reportedly are trading multiple players and draft picks to the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for quarterback Russell Wilson.
One player in the deal is Broncos quarterback Drew Lock.
Here are some details and statistics on Lock:
▪ Second-round pick by Denver in 2019. Played his college ball at Missouri.
▪ 6-foot-4 and 228 pounds.
▪ Career stats: 24 games with 21 starts, according to NFL.com. He has a 59 percent completion rating and has thrown for 4,740 yards with 25 touchdowns and 20 interceptions. His career quarterback rating is 79.3.
▪ Buzz: ”After showing great promise down the stretch in his rookie season, the 2019 second-round pick has struggled since. The 2020 season was a disaster, with the Broncos losing nine of Lock’s 13 starts while the QB tied for the NFL lead with 15 INTs. In his two starts this season, he’s done a better job managing the game — ala [Teddy] Bridgewater — but the Broncos offense hasn’t produced, scoring just 13 points each of the past two games,” reported Kevin Patra of NFL.com in a Jan. 6 story. “If he continues not turning the ball over, Lock could be a long-term NFL backup. But at this point, he’d be hard-pressed to convince a team he’s a franchise quarterback.”
